Reporting Animal Neglect and Cruelty

Hot temperatures can be lethal to dogs left outside with inadequate shelter and water. If you see signs of neglect or cruelty this summer, do not hesitate to make a report.

The Kokomo Humane Society deploys their Cruelty Investigator to address reported animal welfare concerns. After the initial investigation, they will make follow-up calls to confirm a lasting resolution to the any problems found have been made. Legal action in partnership with Kokomo Police Department and/or Sherrif’s Department will be taken against persons responsible for any extreme cases of neglect or abuse.

To report cases of neglect or cruelty, contact the Cruelty Investigator at 765-452-6224.

The Police or Sheriff’s Department may be called outside of Humane Society hours in the event of extreme immediate dangers.
