DIY Dog Food

What wouldn’t you give to keep your beloved fur friend happy and healthy? But, let’s be honest, dog supplies aren't cheap – especially when it comes to food. Even high-end dog foods come with a host of unpronounceable preservatives and additives you’d rather not fill Fido with. So why not keep costs down, control your dog’s diet, and have fun by DIYing your dog food?

NOTE: Consult your veterinarian before changing your dog’s diet. Sudden changes may result in digestive health issues. Beware of allergies.

Treats

Oatmeal Base Biscuit Dough

Add anything from cheese, herbs, bacon bits, to veggies to this base recipe. Our basil and mozzarella biscuits are a big hit! We even cut them into fun shapes.

Ingredients:

2 ½ cups rolled oats

1 egg

½ low- or un-salted broth (no garlic or onions)

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Combine all ingredients and knead in a medium bowl for 3 minutes. Let the mixture rest and firm up for 3-4 minutes. Press or roll the dough out to ½ inch thickness and cut into your desired shapes and sizes. Bake on parchment or a silicone mat for 20 minutes or until firm. For crunchier biscuits, bake at 3 minute intervals until the desired hardness. Bonus: these treats freeze well!

No-bake Truffles

Does your pup have a sweet tooth? These no-bake balls are the perfect protein-packed indulgence without all the excess sugar.

Main ingredients: pumpkin, applesauce, oatmeal, yogurt

Peanut Butter Crunchies

Who doesn’t love a good peanut butter cookie? This firm dough is great for personalizing shapes and designs for that extra tail-wagging wow factor.

Main ingredients: peanut butter, wheat flour, egg

This dough is another freezer friendly option and perfect for last-minute gifts for those other dog lovers in your life.
